Echelon, BLG team up to create “capital pool company”

Montreal-based, BCA Research has announced that it’s launching a new service to provide investors with research, analytics and investment recommendations on emerging-market equities.

The independent research firm’s new service combines its macroeconomic framework with industry expertise, fundamental company analysis and quantitative modelling.

BCA Research has developed a proprietary model that ranks every country/sector pair to identify opportunities within the emerging markets. The model was back tested over a 15-year period, “with consistently strong results,” the firm reports.

“While the macro environment for emerging markets remain problematical, valuations in some emerging-market sectors are very attractive and investors need more help than ever to identify bottom-up opportunities among sectors, and stocks, while mitigating downside risks,” says Bashar AL-Rehany, CEO of BCA Research, in a statement.

“We believe we have developed an indispensable service that will add significant value to any emerging-market investor, both in terms of generating investment ideas, and through the innovative suite of quantitative data that we provide,” he adds.

BCA notes that the launch of its emerging-market equity sector service is the second in a series of additions that it’s planning over the next six months as part of its expansion from a macro focus to also include sector and bottom-up research.
