Over 1000 Andersen Canada partners and staff have joined Deloitte & Touche LLP, creating Canada’s largest professional services firm with over 6,600 people and estimated revenues in excess of $1.1 billion.
“We embraced the opportunity and moved quickly,” says Colin Taylor, Deloitte & Touche’s chief executive and managing partner. Since signing a memorandum of agreement on April 12, the firms have completed the due diligence and received the regulatory and partner approvals needed to close the transaction. During the past seven weeks the firms have accomplished what can often take a year or more.
Russ Robertson, formerly Andersen’s Managing Partner and newly appointed vice chair at Deloitte & Touche says, “Now, we’re integrating the Andersen people and clients into Deloitte & Touche with the same energy, enthusiasm and speed that we brought to closing the transaction. We have a lot of work ahead of us and our goal is to make this transition absolutely seamless for our clients and as smooth as possible for our people.”
June marks the beginning of Deloitte & Touche’s fiscal year and new era for the firm, says Taylor. “We are extremely confident about our future prospects and the immense benefits for our clients and our people. Our commitment to serving Canadian businesses is made even stronger by the combined strength of the outstanding professionals who deliver quality service with integrity every day.”
