Consumers may now purchase property insurance online from one Allstate Insurance Co. of Canada, as the result of enhancements to Allstate’s ‘Good Hands Network,’ the company announced today.

Vice president, Sales, George Hill identified Allstate Canada as the first major insurer in this country, and among only a few in North America, to offer not only real time quotes through the Internet, but the opportunity to complete the buying process online. He said that Allstate’s strategy is to provide consumers with service when and how they wish to receive it.

“This is our latest link in the consumer’s supply chain,” said Hill. “We’re excited to have been the first major Canadian insurer to bring this level of service to customers.”

Most insurance Web sites require consumers to fill in online applications and wait to be contacted by an agent or broker who completes the transaction. Alternately, consumers are provided with telephone numbers to call to purchase property or auto coverage. The Allstate Canada site provides all-in-one service with next-day coverage.

In addition to online property insurance purchases, Allstate’s online capabilities include auto insurance quote and buy, easy payment submission, policy changes, claims services and comprehensive information centre. With 128 bit encryption technology, Allstate’s online service is secure, and proven with already a full year of auto insurance quote and application service.
