- Richard Manley has been named chief sustainability officer for the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments). Manley joined the organization in 2019 as managing director, head of sustainable investing, and, over the last three years, he’s helped the company evolve its integration of ESG factors across its investment programs, a release said. Throughout his decades-long career, Manley has worked at major financial institutions, such as New York–based Goldman Sachs and Merrill (previously Merrill Lynch).
- Nader Ansary is now vice-president of advanced markets with Woodbridge, Ont.–based Hub Financial Inc. The new role places him on the advanced case and estate solutions team at the managing general agency, drawing on his previous and most recent experience as director of advanced sales with Toronto-based PPI Management Inc. Ansary has worked in the insurance space for 20 years, four of those spent earlier at Hub as national account insurance specialist between 2009 and 2013.
- The Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), the standards-setting body for the global financial planning profession and owner of the CFP program outside of the U.S., has announced newly elected leaders from around the globe to its board of directors, council, professional standards committee and network forums. Effective Apr. 1, 2023, for three-year terms each, incoming board members include Caroline Dabu, head of wealth distribution and advisory services with BMO Private Wealth in Canada; and Brett Millard, regional vice-president with IG Wealth Management in Canada. Dabu is currently chair of the FP Canada Foundation and was a former board member for FP Canada from 2015 to 2018. Millard was involved with FP Canada’s board between 2014 and 2021, and was a FPSB council member from 2018 to 2020.
