The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has published a draft Cyber Lexicon for public consultation, financial services regulatory co-ordinator announced on Monday.

The effort aims to establish a set of core terms related to cybersecurity and resilience in the financial sector.

It is intended to support the work of the FSB, standards-setters, regulators and the financial services industry by developing a common terminology to aid cyberrisk assessment, information sharing, and policymaking in this area.

The FSB, which developed the proposed lexicon in response to a request from the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, plans to have the final version ready for the G20 leaders’ summit in Buenos Aires in November.

Comments on the draft version are due by August 20.
