Swiss financial regulators said Friday they are investigating possible manipulation of foreign currency exchange rates involving banks around the world.
The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) announced today that it is “currently conducting investigations into several Swiss financial institutions in connection with possible manipulation of foreign exchange markets.”
FINMA says that it is closely coordinating its investigation with authorities in other countries “as multiple banks around the world are potentially implicated.”
It declined to give further details on the investigations, or the banks that are potentially involved.
