The Saskatchewan Securities Commission has put out a notice regarding its impending move, and the merger of financial industry regulators in that province.

On February 1, 2003, the SSC will be merging with: the Registrar of Credit Unions; the Superintendent of Insurance; the Superintendent of Pensions; and the Superintendent of Financial Institutions to become the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission which will be created under The Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission Act.

A similar proposal has been tabled in Ontario, although there has seemingly been little progress on the issue to date.

Also, effective December 20, the SSC’s new address will be: 6th Floor, 1919 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina, SK, S4P 3V7.
