The Bureau de décision et de révision en valeurs mobilières has extended its initial freeze order against Enviromondial until June 28.
The original decision was issued on December 9, 2003 by the former Commission des valeurs mobilières du Québec. The extension was issued at the request of the Autorité des marchés financiers.
However, the BDRVM partially lifted the freeze on $7,544.19 for the benefit of Luce Brunet, an Enviromondial shareholder whose shares in the firm were cancelled and who was granted a refund for the shares through the Small Claims Division of the Court of Québec.
“These conservatory measures are intended to ensure that investors are protected while the AMF pursues its investigation,” it said. “At the latest court hearings, the AMF stressed that numerous civil lawsuits had been launched against Enviromondial.”
