The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions has moved its Securities Administration Unit (SAU) to Toronto.

OSFI said the SAU moved to its Toronto office effective September 14. In a letter sent to financial institutions, the regulator said that the transfer allows the SAU to work more closely with OSFI supervision staff and better utilize the expertise of the unit.

Effective September 14, all requests/approvals relating to vested assets, letters of credit, trust agreements and all other SAU-related matters should be sent to OSFI’s Toronto office.

All monthly reports prepared by trustees of federally regulated trust accounts, including monthly trustee statements/diskettes, should also be sent to the Toronto office.
