The Ontario Securities Commission is seeking comments on the proposed merger of the TSX Group Inc. and the Bourse de Montréal Inc.
The OSC recognizes both TSX Group and TSX Inc. as an exchange. In today’s OSC Bulletin, the commission published TSX Group’s submissions regarding the proposed transaction. It notes that TSX Group has submitted that no changes are necessary to its’ current recognition order as a result of the merger. Nevertheless, the OSC is seeking comments on the TSX’s submission.
The commission exempts the Bourse from the requirement to be recognized as an exchange in Ontario. It has filed an application with the Autorité des marchés financiers, seeking an amendment to its recognition order in Québec. The application and related materials were published for comment by the AMF on February 1.
Comments on the TSX submission are due by March 10.
