The Ontario Securities Commission announced on Thursday the final agenda for its annual “Dialogue with the OSC” conference.

The year’s event features prominent regulators from the U.S., the U.K., Europe, Japan, and Australia. The heads of both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are both slated to speak at the event, as are representatives from the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA), and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

The heavy international flavour reflects the fact that the meeting on Oct. 8 coincides with an IOSCO meeting in Toronto. The OSC conference will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, which is also hosting the IOSCO attendees.

The first Dialogue panel of the day, focusing on market conduct, will feature OSC Chairman Howard Wetston along with the head of the SEC, Mary Jo White, the outgoing head of the FCA, Martin Wheatley, and Greg Medcraft, head of the ASIC.

A session on financial stability and market reform will include CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad, the head of the ESMA, Steven Maijoor, Ryozo Himino, from Japan’s FSA, and Kevin Fine, director of the OSC derivatives branch.

The conference’s two other panels will look at market liquidity and the subject of investing in Canada and abroad.
