The MFDA held its 2014 Annual General and Special Meeting of Members (“AGM”) on December 3, 2014.

The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada approved the appointment of several new directors at its 2014 annual general and special meeting on Dec. 3.

Steven Glover, chief financial officer, Clearview Resources Ltd., Canmore, Alta., Christopher Nicholls, Stephen Dattels chairman in corporate finance law, Western University, London, Ont. and Ross Stringer, corporate director, Vancouver, were approved as public directors, each to hold office for a three-year term or until their successors have been appointed.

They join existing public directors Lea Hansen, consultant, Toronto, Roderick McLeod, corporate director, Markham, Ont. and Dawn Russell, president and vice chancellor, St. Thomas University, Fredericton.

Rick Annaert, president & CEO, Manulife Securities Investment Services Inc., Toronto, Steven Donald, president, Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd., Toronto, and Tuula Jalasjaa, managing director & head, HollisWealth, Scotiabank Wealth Management, Toronto, were approved as industry directors, each to hold office for a two-year term or until their successors have been appointed.

They join existing industry directors Frank Laferriere, senior vice president & chief operating officer, Mandeville Wealth Services Inc., Toronto, David Losier, vice president & CFO, Fédération des caisse populaire acadiennes ltée and General Manager, Acadia Financial Services Inc. and Acadia Life, Caraquet, N.B., and Vince Valenti, consultant, Manotick, Ont.

MFDA members also approved the appointment of Deloitte LLP as auditors.

The MFDA will hold its 2015 AGM on Dec. 2, 2015 at the St. Andrew’s Club and Conference Centre in Toronto.
