The RCMP announced that its Integrated Market Enforcement Team arrested Michael Mitton on Friday, January 26, in the Toronto area.
There has been a warrant for his arrest since fraud charges were laid against Mitton and two other males concerning in connection with the alleged manipulation of an OTC Bulletin Board company called Pender International Inc. on Sept. 26, 2006.
Mitton is facing charges of: conspiracy to commit fraud over $5,000; fraud over $5,000; laundering the Proceeds of Crime; possession of the Proceeds of Crime; and, two counts of extortion.
None of these allegations have been proven. The RCMP said that Mitton is remanded in custody and will appear in Old City Hall in Toronto on Friday, February 2.
