The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) has welcomed a new member to its board of directors.

Victoria Harnish, a former public service commissioner in Nova Scotia, will serve a two-year term as an independent IIROC board member.

The SRO said in a release that Harnish will “draw upon her depth of expertise in organizational renewal, revenue and expenditure planning, and policy analysis and implementation,” making her a “significant asset.”

IIROC’s board consists of 15 directors, including president and CEO Andrew Kriegler. Harnish is one of seven independent directors, who work alongside individuals who represent dealer members or marketplace members.
