The Financial Services Commission of Ontario has initiated a public consultation concerning a proficiency regime for mortgage brokers and agents.
“The purpose of this technical consultation is to foster an open, transparent and informal discussion regarding what could be the proficiency regime (training, assessment and delivery) for mortgage brokers and agents in Ontario,” it notes.
FSCO indicates that comments will assist the government in finalizing regulatory proposals in this area. Written submissions are due by October 17.
