An Alberta Provincial Court judge has found Edmonton businessman and former lawyer Orest Rusnak guilty of nine counts of failing to comply with a March 31, 2000, Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) decision.

The ASC decision prohibited Rusnak from trading or becoming or acting as a director or officer of any issuer for 20 years.

In an oral decision, Provincial Court Judge H.R. Chisholm decided that Rusnak had breached the ASC decision by acting as a director nine Alberta issuers.

The nine companies are:

    Silverado Manufacturing Ltd.;

  • Super Continental Train Company Inc.;
  • Legal Structures Inc.;
  • Radway Economic Development Corp.;
  • Showcase Tour Co.;
  • Talisman Financial Investments Inc.;
  • Zurich Ventures Inc.; and
  • Equinox Movie Productions Inc.

    Sentencing has been scheduled for November 26, in Edmonton Provincial Court.
