The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on Friday re-opened its call for candidates to represent retail investors on an advisory group that deals with shareholder issues, such as prospectus requirements and corporate governance.
ESMA recently appointed a new consultative working group for its standing committee on corporate finance. The working group is largely comprised of industry representatives and academics.
The standing committee advises ESMA on issues related to prospectuses, transparency, corporate governance and takeover bids; the new working group was created to provide technical assistance to the committee.
The deadline for applications to join the working group on behalf of retail investors is Jan. 3, 2016.
