The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) launched a public consultation on Thursday on possible changes to enhance the data trade repositories make available to the public in an effort to improve transparency in the over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets.
“Public data have experienced several problems related to the comparison and aggregation of data across trade repositories,” ESMA says.
As a result, ESMA is “setting out several proposals to enhance the data made publicly available by trade repositories and to increase the transparency to the public in general,” it says.
The consultation is open until Feb. 15, 2017.
