The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) launched a new, redesigned website today, which aims to improve access to information for both the industry and investors.
The new site has reorganized its content in an effort to improve navigation. For example, regulatory rules and policies have been grouped into categories, information about issuers has been divided into two sections, one to provide information to the public, and a separate section to give issuers information intended to facilitate regulatory compliance.
As well, important changes to the website or databases will appear in banners that are visible from any page of the site, so that these announcements won’t be missed, regardless of how people enter the site.
“The purpose of our website is to provide timely, relevant, and easy access to regulatory information so that market participants and investors can learn, understand, and comply with regulatory requirements,” said Paul Bourque, executive director of the BCSC. “Whether you are looking for a regulatory policy or making a continuous disclosure filing, our new website should help you do this more quickly and easily.”
The commission says that, in the months ahead, its staff will be continuing to make changes to the site in an effort to keep improving it.
