Regulators in Alberta and Ontario have suspended Calgary-based exempt-market dealer, Walton Capital Management Inc. (WCM).
The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) announced that it suspended the registration of Walton Capital Management on Friday, April 28, “after a meeting with WCM management … pending the surrender of the registration of the firm.”
WCM consented to the suspension, which means that the firm is prohibited from providing advice and selling securities to investors.
Soon after, the Ontario Securities Commission announced that it has reciprocated the ASC’s suspension of WCM.
The ASC said it will be “following up with WCM concerning its regulatory obligations.”
