The Autorité des marchés financiers announced that it has issued a second consultation proposal dealing with registration reform.
Quebec’s financial services regulators said that, after analyzing comments received under the first consultation (initiated back in February as a nationwide effort) with the mutual fund industry on the impact of proposed registration reform, it is now releasing a second proposal.
The proposal, which is currently available only in French, “sets out measures to ensure a harmonized and equitable regulatory framework for the mutual fund distribution sector together with appropriate transition periods,” the AMF reports.
Following this consultation, the AMF will review comments received and publish a draft regulation for implementing the proposed registration reform.
Comments on the proposals are due by November 19.
