The Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFP) is hosting its 11th annual national conference next week.

Taking place in Niagara Falls, Ont. the conference will run from May 26 to May 29.

The conference will cover topics relevant to financial planners ranging from retirement planning to balanced investing to digital estate planning.

This year’s conference will also place a strong emphasis on future economic challenges and rebuilding public trust in the financial services industry, says Keith Costello, president and CEO of CIFP.

“What we’re really focusing on is the post-stimulus economy,” says Costello.

“With the stimulus leaving the economy, what will be happening to the financial markets and the challenges our members will have with their clients.”

Speakers will include Jamie Golombek, managing director of tax and estate planning at CIBC Private Wealth Management, Jeff Rubin, economist and author, and Peter Drake, vice-president retirement and economic research, Fidelity Investments Canada.

CIFP will also hold its annual general meeting at the event on May 27.
