One thousand two hundred and thirty five (1,235) individuals wrote the Financial Planners Standards Council’s (FPSC) Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Examination on June 7 and 57.57% (711) passed.
Of those writing the exam for the first time, 61.87 per cent passed.
The list of the 711 successful CFP candidates will be published in the Globe and Mail on Thursday, September 4. For the first time, FPSC will also acknowledge top performing candidates in the advertisement.
“Congratulations to all the successful candidates. They are now one step closer to earning the only internationally recognized professional financial planning designation. The CFP Examination is one of four key components that lead to the CFP designation, the highest standard in financial planning,” said Cary List, FPSC vice president, standards and certification.
The six-hour CFP Examination is administered in both official languages twice a year. The June exam was held in 52 centres across Canada.
The next scheduled exam is on Saturday, November 22. Registration closes on October 22. Examinformation and applications are available at www.cfp-ca.org.
