Finance et Investissement (FI) has named Guy Cormier as the Financial Personality of the Year in its 24th annual Top des leaders de l’industrie financière ranking.
Cormier, who received the award in a ceremony on Tuesday in Montreal, is president and CEO of Desjardins Group.
The award jury named Cormier as Personality of the Year because of Desjardins Group’s many achievements in 2024 and previous years, as well as its commitment to ESG factors. The award jury also highlighted Cormier’s commitment to youth.
The Top des leaders winners
The Financial Personality of the Year is selected from among the winners in each of the categories.
The category winners are:
- Full-service brokerage firms: Stéphan Bourbonnais, executive vice-president, iA Wealth.
- Independent management companies: Stéphane Corriveau, president of Alphafixe Capital.
- Leaders and executives in the financial industry: Éric Trudel, executive vice-president and leader, Group Insurance, Beneva.
- Life and health insurers: Denis Ricard, president and CEO, iA Financial Group.
- Securities and insurance brokerages: Gino-Sébastian Savard, president, MICA Cabinets de Services financiers.
- National financial services institutions: Guy Cormier.
