The FundGrade A+ Awards for 2022 were handed out Thursday in Toronto to 62 fund companies representing 362 funds.
The awards, run by Toronto-based Fundata Canada Inc., are based on risk-adjusted performance history going back as far as 10 years.
The 362 funds awarded for 2022 comprised 179 mutual funds, 85 ETFs, 95 segregated funds and three responsible investing funds.
CI Investments Inc. had the most honoured funds, 39, followed by The Canada Life Assurance Co. (31) and RBC Global Asset Management Inc. (28).
Three fund managers were lauded for the first time since the awards began in 2012: Toronto-based Forge First Asset Management Inc.; Mississauga, Ont.-based Lincluden Investment Management Ltd.; and Victoria, B.C.-based McElvaine Investment Management Ltd.
In 2021, 57 companies representing 386 funds received the award.
