BMO Private Wealth has appointed a new chief investment strategist for its private investment counsel arm.

Brent Joyce, former investment strategist with Mackenzie Investments, has been hired as chief investment strategist and managing director with BMO Private Investment Counsel (BPIC), part of BMO Private Wealth.

Joyce took over the role on Wednesday and succeeds Lesley Marks, who became chief investment officer, equities, of Mackenzie Investments in January 2021.

Most recently, Joyce spent more than a year at Mackenzie Investments. Prior to that, he was the chief investment strategist with GLC Asset Management Group Ltd.

Joyce will be in charge of BPIC’s multi-asset investment solutions and will direct the firm’s overall strategic and tactical asset allocation framework. He will report to Stephen Macdonald, head of BPIC and product management for BMO Private Wealth Canada.
