The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) is partnering with the United Nations’ Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) effort, as it aims to support the sector’s transition to a more sustainable economy.
The WFE announced that it has formalized a partnership with the SSE initiative, which will see the two groups work together to build their capacity and research capabilities.
The groups anticipate collaborating in areas such as providing technical assistance to stock exchanges on environmental, social and governance disclosure; developing sustainability tools for exchanges and industry infrastructure firms; and engaging in joint research and industry training.
“We believe that by working together and leveraging each other’s expertise we will be able to fulfil our shared vision of a sustainable future,” said Nandini Sukumar, CEO of the WFE.
“We look forward to working together to strengthen the role of exchanges in promoting sustainable finance,” added James Zhan, chair of the SSE governing board.
