Several prominent figures in the financial services industry are among those featured on the 2018 list of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners announced Thursday by Women’s Executive Network (WXN), a Toronto-based professional organization.

“We are celebrating 110 of Canada’s highest achieving women in diverse fields,” Sherri Stevens, CEO of WXN, says in a statement. “All 110 are role models for the generations who will follow — which is why it’s very important to recognize and celebrate their great achievements.”

Several prominent figures in the financial services industry were named, including: Maureen Jensen, chairwoman and CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC); Mary Condon, a professor of securities regulation at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University; Maili Wong, first vice president and portfolio manager, CIBC Wood Gundy; Dagmara Fijalkowski, head, global fixed income and currencies, SVP, senior portfolio manager, RBC Global Asset Management; and Catherine Roche, head of marketing and strategy, BMO Financial Group.

Jensen joined the OSC in 2011 and was appointed chairwoman in 2016, the OSC says in a news release. The first woman to lead the commission, Jensen “has championed for investor protection and strong capital markets.”

“Maureen is a remarkable leader and one of the most respected regulators in this country. We are delighted that the WXN has recognized her with this prestigious award,” AnneMarie Ryan, OSC lead director, says in a statement. “In a career that has spanned more than 30 years, Maureen has forged a path for greater diversity and has defined what it means to be a role model for women in business today.”

WXN also awarded the 2018 Deloitte Inclusion Vanguard Award to Rich Donovan, CEO of The Return on Disability Group. Donovan is an expert on “the convergence of disability and corporate profitability,” WXN says in a statement.

Ten women, including Norie Campbell, group head, customer and colleague experience, Toronto-Dominion Bank, were inducted into WXN’s Top 100 Hall of Fame:
