Vadim Gracie has been appointed chairman of CFA Society Toronto’s board of directors following the June 28 election meeting, the not-for-profit organization announced on Tuesday.
The board provides CFA Society Toronto with strategic leadership to carry out its mission and vision by adopting a socially responsible role in the enhancement of the investment profession.
“It is a distinct pleasure to be elected the 2018-2019 Chair of CFA Society Toronto,” says Gracie, in a statement. “In the coming year, with the support of our dedicated membership of professionals, I look forward to working with my fellow board members and volunteer committees in our continued effort to building a stronger investment profession that better benefits society at large.”
Additionally, new appointments to the board include Marcus Turner, vice chairman, Pamela Steer, past chairwoman and Amy Stephenson.
The board also welcomed three new members to the board of directors:
> Grace Cleary-Yu, CFA – member services
Cleary-Yu is a client portfolio manager for Toronto-based Guardian Capital Advisors LP. She is also the lead volunteer for CFA Society Toronto’s institutional asset management committee.
> Robert Cultraro, CFA – board member at large
Cultraro is the chief investment and pension officer at Toronto-based Hydro One Inc. Additionally, he is a senior advisor to CFA Society Toronto’s institutional asset management committee.
> Kathrin Forrest, CFA – programming, vice chairwoman
Forrest is portfolio manager for Toronto-based Sun Life Global Investments.
> Michael Thom, CFA – board member of large
Thom is the vice president at Toronto-based Lumen Asset Management Inc. He is the immediate past chairman of the Canadian advocacy council for CFA Institute.
