Investment Executive (IE) senior reporter James Langton was named Journalist of the Year at the 2018 Financial Journalism Awards reception in Toronto on Wednesday evening.
The awards were created by CFA Society Toronto to acknowledge the contributions of Canadian-based financial publications and journalists who show true commitment to high professional standards.
“James’s knowledge of financial matters and regulatory issues is unmatched,” says Pablo Fuchs, managing editor of IE. “Our team is very proud of James for this accomplishment and grateful to the CFA Society for the recognition of all the great work he does.”
Bloomberg was named Publication of Year, and Martha Porado, Benefits Canada, won the Future of Finance Award.
“CFA Society Toronto recognizes their contributions towards improving transparency, and strengthening investor education which serves to shape a trustworthy and forward thinking financial industry,” the organization says in a news release.
