Toronto-based Fidelity Investments Canada Ltd. has changed the fiscal yearend of its global and international equity funds and its global asset-allocation funds. Effective immediately, the current Feb. 28 yearend (Feb. 29 in a leap year) will move to March 31. The changes reflect alignment with traditional quarterly periods and will simplify reporting for investors and advisors, the company says. Fidelity’s next annual report for the funds will be dated March 31, and semi-annual reports will be produced on Sept. 30. The existing March 31 yearend remains intact for all Fidelity
Focus funds; the existing June 30 yearend remains for Canadian and U.S. funds. The yearend changes do not affect the date of payment of distributions on the funds, which is made at the
end of December of each year.
