CIBC has announced unitholder approval of the merger of eight mutual funds, effective April 28: CIBC Canadian Fixed Income Index Fund has merged into CIBC Canadian Bond Index Fund; CIBC International Equity Index Fund has merged into CIBC International Index RRSP Fund; CIBC Canadian Equity Index Fund has merged into CIBC Canadian Index Fund; and CIBC U.S. Index Fund has merged into CIBC U.S. Equity Index Fund. In the latter merger, unitholders also approved the change of the investment objective of CIBC U.S. Equity Index Fund; it will track the Wilshire 5000 Index instead of the S&P 500 Total Return Index, CIBC says.
