Winsoft Software Inc. of Richmond Hill, Ont., and Financial Plan Advantage Ltd. of St. Albert, Alta., have entered into a partnership to create a new software company called FPAdvantage Inc., to be based in St. Albert. Established in 1986, Winsoft is a private Canadian firm that develops mutual fund and insurance back-office products. Financial Plan Advantage was formed in 2006 and offers financial planning software. Both companies will use the joint-venture firm to develop cloud-based systems to create technology-based products for financial planners.
