Mackenzie Financial Corp. is changing the portfolio managers to two of its funds, effective March 1. Jerry Javasky, head of Mackenzie’s Ivy Funds team, and Alan Pasnik, lead portfolio manager of Mackenzie Maxxum Global Explorer Capital Class, will assume co-manager duties of Mackenzie Select Managers USA Capital Class. Javasky and Pasnik will join two existing management teams from Waddell & Reed Investment Management Co.: Phil Sanders and Dan Becker, the large-cap growth specialists, and Mark Seferovich and Ken McQuade, small- and mid-cap specialists. “These changes will achieve better balance between the portfolio’s value and growth managers,” says David Feather, president of Mackenzie Financial Services Inc. The firm also appointed Mark Grammer, vice president of investments, as one of five co-managers of Mackenzie Select Managers Japan Capital Class Fund. Grammer replaces Credit Suisse Asset Management, which had been a subadvisor to the fund. The Japan fund’s remaining four management teams will remain intact. In addition to the management changes, Mackenzie is cutting management fees for both funds. Effective March 1, fees will be reduced by 0.25% for Series A, F and I shares.
