Toronto-based Front Street Capital Inc. has appointed Rick Brown as senior portfolio manager of fixed-income. He will oversee all fixed- and variable-income portfolio-management responsibilities at the firm. Brown will be responsible for implementing fixed-income investment strategy and research, as well as for driving the investment and reallocation process. Brown is the lead portfolio manager of Front Street Diversified Income Class Fund and also will be responsible for the fixed-income investments for Front Street Growth & Income Class Fund. The investment objectives of these funds remain unchanged. Brown brings 15 years of experience in global capital markets to his new role. Prior to joining the firm, he was a senior portfolio manager of fixed-income with Montreal-based Stanton Asset Management Inc. (portfolio advisor on the O’Leary family of funds), at which Brown managed the fixed-income team. Prior to Stanton, Brown managed a large, relative-value credit portfolio at Toronto-based Bank of Montreal’s capital-markets division, where he spent about seven years in London, initially trading interest-rate derivatives before developing the credit and credit-derivative businesses. Brown replaces Eric Dzuba, who has left Front Street to pursue other opportunities.
