Canada’s Chartered Accountants announced today that PotashCorp has received the Overall Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting for the second consecutive year.
PotashCorp received top scores across the four judging categories: financial reporting, corporate governance disclosure, electronic disclosure and sustainable development reporting.
PotashCorp was also the Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting winner for the Mining industry sector and was the recipient of the overall Award of Excellence for Financial Reporting across all industry sectors. In addition, PotashCorp received Honourable Mention Awards of Excellence for Corporate Governance Disclosure and Sustainable Development Reporting.
Other significant winners this year included TELUS Corp., which won the Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting in the Communications & Media industry sector and the overall Award of Excellence in Corporate Governance Disclosure.
BCE Inc. and MDS Inc. tied for the Award of Excellence in Electronic Disclosure across all industry sectors.

The awards recognize excellence in financial and corporate reporting in Canada. Awards are given to companies who have shown leadership in financial reporting, electronic disclosure, corporate governance disclosure and sustainable development reporting.
The majority of eligible companies come from the top 50 listed on the TSX as of Mar. 31, 2005 with a market capitalization of over $200 million. They are also incorporated in Canada.
A new industry award was introduced this year for small cap and venture companies. This applies to the top 50 TSX companies with under $200 million in market capitalization, as well as the top 50 TSX Venture companies. A total of 105 companies entered their reports this year.
