The Canadian Public Accountability Board announced that it has completed its initial quality inspections of the four largest Canadian accounting firms.

The CPAB says that it has now inspected the big four accounting firms in Canada – Deloitte & Touche LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, KPMG LLP, and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP – and will release its public report on the results of those inspections on Dec. 19.

The CPAB also announced that the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia was admitted as an industry member effective November 15.

The CPAB’s mission is to contribute to public confidence in the integrity of financial reporting of reporting issuers by promoting high quality, independent auditing. It is responsible for implementing an oversight program that includes inspections of the auditors of Canada’s public companies.
