Assante Corp. announced yesterday that Laurie Goldberg, chief operating officer, will leave the company effective March 31.

“Laurie has been instrumental in leading the company through the branding and integration of its Canadian and U.S. business operations and the development of their strong, capable management teams,” said Martin Weinberg, chairman and CEO, Assante Corp., in a news release. “His guidance has been a key factor in the success of our company, and we wish him every success in his future endeavors.”

Goldberg joined the company in 1998 to assist the company’s transition from a privately held firm to a public company. His mandate included the branding and integration of the operations and management of the 18 firms acquired by the company in Canada under a single general management team, the branding and integrating the U.S. business management firms, and launching certain corporate initiatives.

Speaking about his pending departure Goldberg said, “I am very proud of my accomplishments at Assante. Assante is now one company — confident, mature and growing.”

With Goldberg’s mandate substantially complete and members of his integration team re-deployed to Assante’s Canadian and United States business units, Assante has reassigned Goldberg’s remaining duties to other members of Assante’s senior management.
