VentureLink LP today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the VentureLink Group of Labour-Sponsored Investment Funds from Skylon Advisors Inc.

VentureLink LP is a new partnership controlled by the funds’ management team of Geoff Horton, John Varghese and Jim Whitaker.

Under the terms of a sale agreement reached in October 2005, VentureLink LP now owns the management contracts for the six VentureLink Funds and related Community Small Business Investment Funds.

CI Financial Inc., Skylon’s parent company, will continue to provide administrative and other services to the funds, which had $198 million in assets as of Dec. 31, 2005.

“This will be a seamless transition for investors,” said Varghese, managing partner of VentureLink LP, in a release. “Our funds remain well positioned and our proven strategy of focusing on debt-oriented investments will continue.”
