Canaccord Capital Inc. announced today that CFO Dennis Burdett is retiring. He’s to be replaced by Brad Kotush, effective immediately.
Peter Brown, chairman and chief executive officer of Canaccord announced that Kotush has been promoted to executive vp and CFO. “Kotush brings to this role a deep and broad knowledge of Canaccord, advanced financial skills and extensive experience in the capital markets in Canada and the UK,” Brown said, in a release.
Kotush joined Canaccord in 1998 after having gained experience at KPMG and a local investment dealer, where he was CFO. He started as vice president of special projects with Canaccord, and has also served as CFO and corporate secretary for Canaccord Capital Europe and chief information officer and senior vp finance for Canaccord Capital Canada. He is a CA and has a B.A. from the University of British Columbia.
Burdett is retiring, but will remain at Canaccord to ensure an orderly transition. “Dennis has overseen tremendous growth and has been a valued partner over the past 19 years. Dennis joined us when we were a small private company and now hands over the reins after Canaccord has become Canada’s largest independent investment dealer and a large and diverse public company,” continued Brown. “Dennis is staying with the firm and will be assisting us on various development projects.”
“We are excited to have Brad Kotush take the reins in a key leadership position in our firm, as he brings a strong tool kit of experiences and skills that suit our diverse and growing international company very well,” said Brown.
