BMO Nesbitt Burns announced Thursday that Ellen Costello, head of securitization and credit investment management, has been appointed vice chair. Based in New York, Costello will work in collaboration with the firm’s leaders to help shape and manage BMO Nesbitt Burns’ strategic direction in the New York market.

“Ellen will play a significant role in enhancing our visibility and growing our business in New York by effectively leveraging all our resources to serve our U.S. and Canadian-based clients,” said Bill Downe, deputy chair, BMO Financial Group and CEO, BMO Nesbitt Burns and Head of Investment Banking.

In addition to her mandate, Costello will continue to oversee the firm’s securitization and credit investment management group, which offers issuers and investors products and services that use credit as a tool for asset management and funding alternatives.

Costello joined BMO Financial Group in 1983, she held progressively senior positions in corporate banking, capital markets and investment banking. She has been a member of the investment banking group’s management and executive committees since 1999.
