James McClocklin and Daniel Brintnell, co-founders of Harrington Lane Inc., are joining the Dundee Wealth team as the new co-heads of Dundee’s retail division for both Dundee Securities Corp. and Dundee Private Investors Inc.
In their new roles, the pair will work on an exclusive basis with Dundee’s network of 1,912 independent financial advisors to provide service to clients.
“The addition of such experienced, high-caliber leadership to Dundee’s executive team will play a key role in further developing Dundee as Canada’s premiere, independent wealth management company,” said Kym Anthony, president and CEO of Dundee Securities, in a release.
In connection with these appointments, Dundee Wealth Management Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire Harrington Lane Inc.
The consideration for the acquisition will be $2 million cash and a maximum of 350,000 common shares of Dundee Wealth.
Harrington Lane was formed in 2002 by McClocklin and Brintnell to provide authoritative education, strategy, training and ongoing advice for advisors seeking to service the financial and lifestyle needs of wealthy Canadian families. Following completion of the acquisition, Harrington Lane will cease to provide these services to third parties.
The deal is expected to be completed by February 28, and is subject to regulatory approvals.
McClocklin has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry in the banking, trust and insurance and financial advisory communities. Prior to forming Harrington Lane, he was a senior vp at Merrill Lynch Canada.
Brintnell has held senior positions within the financial services industry for over 18 years and was the national director of international private wealth services for Merrill Lynch Canada immediately prior to the formation of Harrington Lane.
