Moody’s Investors Service launched its Canadian-focused Web site, www.moodys.ca, on Tuesday. The site provides information about Canadian corporations, financial institutions, infrastructure entities, and government issuers, as well as Canadian structured finance transactions.
“Canada represents a vibrant and growing segment of Moody’s worldwide rating activity,” said Andrew Kriegler, managing director of Moody’s in Canada. “Moody’s has been evaluating credit risk here since 1901, and we continue to grow our business in Canada.”
“The content of this site – from the highlights on the homepage to the various ratings lists, Watchlists, and research – is tailored to the needs of the Canadian market,” said Hilary Parkes, vice president of Business Development for Moody’s Canada.
The site allows users to look up Canadian rating actions, as well as ratings and recently released news about Canadian corporations, banks, insurance companies, and all levels of government. Users may search for the ratings on Canadian structured finance transactions, including asset-backed securities (ABS) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). Watchlist information is also available on www.moodys.ca.
In addition to issuer-specific information, the site contains research about Canadian industries and topics of general interest, as well as Moody’s rating methodologies and a calendar of Moody’s upcoming events. An Issuer Guide to Moody’s Ratings, which provides a description of Moody’s rating process, is also available. Contact information for all Moody’s associates in Canada is listed.
