Dynamic Mutual Funds Ltd. announced Thursday the formation of a new fund family. The Commonwealth Funds will provide investors with a conservative, comprehensive investment strategy managed by Ned Goodman.

Two mutual funds managed by Dynamic have been repositioned to create the Commonwealth Fund family: Commonwealth Canadian Fund, formerly the Dynamic Partners Fund; and StrategicNova Commonwealth World Balanced Fund Ltd.

The Commonwealth Funds take their name from one of the oldest mutual funds in Canada. Started in 1932, the StrategicNova Commonwealth World Balanced Fund Ltd. represents a tradition of long-term focus and steady returns.

“We appreciate the history of consistent wealth creation behind the Commonwealth name and wanted to renew the tradition by expanding the fund family. The Commonwealth Funds are designed to deliver consistent growth through capital gains and income generation, while at the same time protecting capital by always investing with a margin of safety” said Goodman. “Investors now have access to Canada, the U.S. and the rest of the world through two funds in a simple, comprehensive format.”

Goodman has four decades of experience as a securities analyst and portfolio manager and an established reputation as one of Canada’s most successful investment counselors.

A dedicated team of in-house investment professionals that includes specialists covering every major industry sector and geographical region supports Goodman’s efforts. Michael McHugh will continue to manage the fixed-income component of Commonwealth Canadian Fund and CDP Capital – World Markets will continue to manage the fixed-income component of StrategicNova Commonwealth World Balanced Fund Ltd.
