IA Clarington Investments Inc., based in Toronto, launched three new mutual funds in January. IA Clarington Yield Opportunities Fund is meant to provide a steady monthly income stream and modest returns through a mix of investment-grade and high-yield fixed-income securities, dividend-paying equity securities and other securities that distribute income. This fund is managed by Clément Gignac, senior vice president, chief economist and chairman of the asset-allocation team at Quebec City-based Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc., IA Clarington’s parent company. The second new fund, IA Clarington U.S. Dividend Growth Registered Fund, is designed to provide long-term capital appreciation and total return by investing in a diversified portfolio of U.S. large-cap equities with a focus on dividend growth. This fund is available only through registered accounts. Pierre Trottier, lead portfolio manager, U.S. equities, with Industrial Alliance, manages the fund. The third new fund, IA Clarington U.S. Dollar Floating Rate Income Fund, is meant for investors looking to buy and invest in the U.S. dollar. This fund invests in senior floating-rate loans, other floating-rate securities and debt obligations of investment-grade and non-investment-grade North American and global corporate issuers. Jeff Sujitno, vice president with IA Clarington, is the fund’s portfolio manager. For fee details and other information on the new funds, visit www.iaclarington.com.
