Toronto-based Mackenzie Financial Corp. proposed changed to the investment objectives and strategies of Mackenzie Global Diversified Income Fund.

If the changes are approved, the fund will invest directly in securities as opposed to other Mackenzie funds. The fund will be renamed the Mackenzie Global Strategic Income Fund as a result of the changes.

The fund will have the flexibility to invest in income-generating securities from any sector and asset class in the world. The fund will be managed by the Mackenzie Fixed Income and Global Equity & Income Teams, which are led by Steve Locke and Darren McKiernan, respectively.

A special meeting is scheduled for April 29 at the Mackenzie Investments office in Toronto for the fund’s investors to approve the changes.
