Empire Life Insurance Co. on Thursday announced the appointment of four new officers to its executive team.
Richard Carty was appointed vice president and corporate Secretary. Carty will be responsible for board of directors relations, regulatory and industry corporate affairs, legal services and compliance. He will also be Empire’s chief compliance officer.
Deborah Frame, who was appointed chief investment officer when she joined Empire in February of this year, now takes on full accountability for the company’s investment division as vice president and chief investment officer.
Edward Gibson was appointed vice president and actuary. He will be responsible for developing embedded value corporate performance measures and co-ordinating actuarial aspects of the annual financial plans and projections. In addition, Gibson will continue to fulfil his current accountabilities as pricing actuary within Empire’s employee benefits division.
Gary McCabe was appointed vice president and controller. McCabe will be responsible for a wide range of financial reporting duties, including analysis of corporate financial results and the presentation and explanation of these results to the Board of Directors.
Mike Schneider was appointed to the new role of senior vice president, corporate. Schneider now takes on overall accountability for all corporate functions within the company and also continues in his role as Empire’s CFO.
