Toronto-based CI Investments Inc. has made changes in portfolio management for its G5/20 fund series. Montreal-based Fiera Capital Corp. has taken over the series’ portfolio subadvisory responsibilities, previously the responsibility of Montreal-based HR Stratégies Inc. (HRS). The decision follows changes to HRS’s business model, which saw its risk-management overlay managers move to Fiera. As a result, the funds will continue to be managed by Alexandre Hocquard, co-leader, research and quantitative solutions, and senior portfolio manager at Fiera, and Nicolas Papageorgiou, co-leader, research and quantitative solutions. The G5/20 funds are designed to distribute stable, annual cash flow equal to 5% of the investor’s initial investment or the guaranteed asset value over a period of 20 years. The risk-management overlay strategy supports this objective through the use of exchange-traded derivatives to hedge the investments. The cash flow is guaranteed by Toronto-based Bank of Montreal.
