The Autorité des marchés financiers reports that a fake e-mail bearing its name is currently circulating on the Internet.
“The e-mail is illegally using the logo and letterhead usually used by the AMF on its press releases,” it notes, adding, “The AMF wishes to warn insurance companies of the consulting firm Experts-Conseils CEP inc.”
The AMF says that it is not at all associated with the contents of the fake e-mail. It adds that it is in no way involved in the distribution of the fake e-mail, and the persons referred to are not AMF employees, as is suggested in the e-mail. “The AMF is making every effort to trace the e-mail and will take appropriate measures,” it notes.
