The Investment Industry Regulatory organization of Canada (IIROC) is hosting a roundtable on issues affecting the venture market.
With the support of TSX Venture Exchange, IIROC is planning a meeting in Vancouver on May 5 to discuss some of the issues facing junior markets. Panel participants will include senior exchange representatives, issuers, dealers and regulators, it notes. Investors, issuers, IIROC dealers and those involved in the venture markets are encouraged to attend the free event.
The meeting’s topics will include electronic trading, short selling and the Client Relationship Model’s (CRM) impact on venture financing; although other issues may be raised too, focusing on the recent tough environment for trading and financing venture securities.
IIROC notes that it is preparing short background papers on some of the topics that will be discussed. The papers will not be presented at the event, but are intended to provide context for the discussions, and will be provided for attendees in advance of the meeting.
